Poems on the Book of Daniel by Rex H. Henderson

The Book of Daniel

When God’s blessings seemed to be
With drawn from the Jewish nation,
This Godly man, Daniel, was sent
To live in ungodly Babylon.

Babylon was a kingdom which
Dispensed with the knowledge of God.
Much like it is in so called “Christian”
America and today’s world.

Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon,
Believed he could live above God.
But Daniel was a man of purpose
Witnessing to God’s holy Word.

He was a man of prayer. He prayed
Himself in and out of the lion’s den.
God answered his prayer, and
Delivered him from his peril.

Daniel believed God to be in
Control of history and establishes
A kingdom to endure forever,
A kingdom never to be destroyed.

The theme of the book of Daniel
Is the universal sovereignty
Of God overruling idolatry,
Blasphemy, and self-will.
