Five appearances are given as occurring on the day of Jesus’ resurrection, and five are given subsequently during the forty days. The five on the day of His resurrection were: (1) to Mary Magdalene; (2) to the other women; (3) the two going to Emmaus; (4) to Simon Peter; (5) the ten apostles.
