Baptism of new believers at
Alpha  & Omega Baptist Church in Danli, Honduras.

“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I command you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age”  - Matthew 28:19-20

O

ne of the greatest joys of our lives was baptizing new believers in a river near Danli, Honduras, April 2005.

Pablo was one of these baptized believers. He had worked with my pastor for three years in Tegucigalpa on medical-dental-evangelism teams. Wil had witnessed to him on various occasions, and he listened to the preaching of the gospel many times. They patiently prayed and waited for the Holy Spirit to bring him to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Wil shared with him the good news in Christ again on our recent trip, and Pablo told him that he was ready to be baptized.

After the baptism service on Sunday morning, Gabe walked along the riverside taking pictures of Honduran women washing clothes in the river. He sensed God leading him to pass out Spanish New Testaments to them.

One of the women who received one followed Gabe up the hill to where members of the church were and asked some church members to pray with her. She wanted to meet this Jesus she was reading about in this New Testament. We shared Jesus Christ, and she put her faith in Him as her Savior.

My pastor taught the students how to mark their New Testaments so they could easily share the plan of salvation in Jesus Christ using the “Roman Road.”

Gabe said, ‘”I saw God do it because I don’t speak one word of Spanish.”

We had over 40 students in our seminary extension courses which are attracting well-educated church leaders who are hungry for training in the Bible and Christian education.

Abide in Christ is a faith ministry dependent upon the Lord and Bible believing Christians to provide free of charge Bible teaching ministries to build up His church and to reach unbelievers for Jesus Christ.
Pray for the Lord's guidance as we seek to provide a cost effective, high quality, professional education experience for rural pastors, evangelists and church workers in Honduras.

Two school teachers want us to start a Baptist church in Zapotillo. They had already been praying that God would provide them a Baptist church.

(April 28, 2005) - We give praise to our Great God and Savior for providing the funds to put the roof on the house of Juan Alberto in Danli, Honduras. Great is Thy faithfulness!  We will be able to finish his house before the rainy season starts. Thank you for praying and giving to provide for this faithful pastor who coordinates our work in Honduras.

what you can do

Partnership missions gives you an opportunity to become personally involved in what God is doing in world missions.

Pray daily for the work in Honduras.

To reduce costs for seminary courses, we will not build buildings in Honduras but operate out of existing churches or church assembly grounds. We have pastors and laymen who are committed to theological education by extension for rural pastors who will coordinate the work and provide logistics in Honduras. We will teach 40-50 classroom hours, provide cost of textbooks, teaching materials, etc. for the students.

  • Bible Training for Rural Pastors and Church Leaders Ministry in Honduras.

  •  Juan Alberto Herrera Ministry Alberto has faithfully served 18 years as a contract worker with mission teams. We believe it is God’s will for him to serve as a full-time evangelist and pastor. Juan pastors missions in Danli that cooperate with the Honduran Baptist Convention.
