 PSALM 126

When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream. Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The LORD hath done great things for them. The LORD hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad. Turn again our captivity, O LORD, as the streams in the south. They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him. (KJV).

Psalm 126

Like Men Who Dream

 Captivity in Babylon for seventy
Years was long and dark. Like
Children removed from parents,
With grief, sorrow and weeping.

Sadness eclipsed their joy, they
Could no longer sing, their harp were
Useless. Their hearts and minds remained
In Jerusalem their place of worship.

A dark cloud covered Zion, the holy city,
But when they came home they were like
men who dreamed…our mouths were filled with
laughter, our tongues with songs of joy.

It was the joy of prisoners set free. O the
Joy that flooded my soul when I was
Saved and freed from the prison of sin,
Death, and hell. My joy no tongue could tell.

My soul so filled with precious joy, my
Life had turned from death to life. I wept
For the joy of transformation and a
New direction in life, like fresh streams

Inundating my barren life. I began to
Share my new found joy with others,
And so this joy has flooded my soul
To this very day.
