 PSALM XV

A Psalm of David. LORD, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill? He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart. He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour. In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the LORD. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not. He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved. (Psalm 15, KJV)

PSALM XV

The Question and Answer

Jehovah high and holy, all powerful,
Majestic and a consuming fire,
Who charges the angels with folly,
Who can abide in your attire?

To dwell in God’s holy place,
One must walk right, talk right,
Speak the truth. Do not slander,
Avoid bribery and be upright.

Impossible to be perfect?  Not so!.
Jesus took our place, paid sins debt,
Dying in our stead to make us holy
To receive Heaven’s glorious onset.

Jesus, the only perfect one, grants
Us forgiveness and holiness
That we may dwell with God,
As we accept His righteousness.

“That soul is blessed, angels guard her
The Son kisses her and when the world
Is turned to a burning pile, she shall be
Set in blessedness above this old-world.”
