 PSALM 67

To the chief Musician on Neginoth, A Psalm or Song.

God be merciful unto us, and bless us; and cause his face to shine upon us; Selah. That thy way may be known upon earth, thy saving health among all nations. Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee. O let the nations be glad and sing for joy: for thou shalt judge the people righteously, and govern the nations upon earth. Selah. Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee. Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us. God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear him.  (Psalm 67, KJV)

Psalm 67

That God May be Known

The Psalm is a missionary psalm
With anticipation of the universal
Spread of the knowledge of God,
But power is needed for the rationale.

“May God be gracious to us and bless us
and make his face shine upon us…”

A shinning face means favor with God.
Providing a warm and gracious love
Between God and His people.

“and bless us,”
Means power from above.

The face of the whole earth, which sin
Has darkened, needs resurrection power
To bring new life and shinning faces
To glorify the heavenly Father.

If the world comes to know God, to love
Him, and to praise Him, we must pray
For the Holy Spirit to fill our lives
And be committed to share the way.

“Let your light so shine before men,
that they see your good works, and
 glorify your Father in Heaven.”
