PSALM 93

The LORD reigneth, he is clothed with majesty; the LORD is clothed with strength, wherewith he hath girded himself: the world also is stablished, that it cannot be moved. Thy throne is established of old: thou art from everlasting. The floods have lifted up, O LORD, the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their waves. The LORD on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, yea, than the mighty waves of the sea. Thy testimonies are very sure: holiness becometh thine house, O LORD, for ever.  (Psalm 93, KJV)

Psalm 93

Praising the Eternal King

This Psalm, mighty and colorful in
Language, describes the sovereign
Reign of Jehovah, and fulfilled in
Christ Jesus, the Messiah.

In this Psalm there are three parts:
1. The reign of the sovereign God.
2. The turmoil of the world over, and
3. Characteristics of God’s kingdom.

God is robed in majesty, might and
Power and reigns in stateliness,
Dignity and grandeur. His being is
Immutable, never changing.

The universe is decaying and running
Down. The sun is cooling, abundant
Resources will be depleted. Human
Nature is restless and changing.

God is king not only over the cosmos,
But of human beings too, and his rule
Is of justice and holiness. We need to
Honor him as his holy people until,

“The kingdom of the world has become
the kingdom of his Lord and of his Christ,
and he shall reign forever and ever.”
