 PSALM 125

They that trust in the LORD shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever. As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the LORD is round about his people from henceforth even for ever. For the rod of the wicked shall not rest upon the lot of the righteous; lest the righteous put forth their hands unto iniquity. Do good, O LORD, unto those that be good, and to them that are upright in their hearts. As for such as turn aside unto their crooked ways, the LORD shall lead them forth with the workers of iniquity: but peace shall be upon Israel.  (Psalm 125, KJV)

Psalm 125

The Believer is Like Mount Zion

Our culture is in the state of decline,
Like honesty, courage, concern for other
People, self discipline, responsibility, and
Hard work. Results? Cultural barbarians.

 The fall of Rome had a breakdown
Almost exactly what we are dealing with.
However, the psalmist is writing about
The security of believers.

As the Mountains surround Jerusalem,
Much more God surrounds his people.
“They that trust in the Lord shall be as

Mount Zion steadfast and secure.

The psalmist looks beyond Jerusalem
To the Lord who lives eternally.
Our security can never be in our selves.
It must always be in God.

Jesus said, I give them eternal life, and
They shall never perish;
the trusting ones.
Rejecting Jesus is no small consequence.
You are spiritually dead, lost forever.

         Trusting as the moments fly,
         Trusting as the days go by;
         Trusting him what e’er befall.
         Trusting Jesus, that is all.
