"Expect
great things from God!
Attempt great things for God!"
Abide in Christ is a faith ministry dependent upon the Lord and Bible
believing Christians to provide free of charge Bible teaching ministries to build up His
church and to reach unbelievers for Jesus Christ.

do something!
Expect great things from God! Attempt great things for God!"

father of the modern missionary movement.

PRAISE AND PRAYER REQUEST
In January 2005, Wil taught the first in a series of
fifteen courses to begin the new Seminary Extension
program in Danli, Honduras. In April 2005 we
baptized
new believers in a river near Danli, and saw
God open new doors of ministry. In October we organized the
New Mission in Zapotillo. At the same time
one of our students started seven home Bible studies in the Las Acacias
subdivision of Danli. As the missions continued to grow it became obvious
that for sustained growth we needed to build a building for each. Abide in
Christ and Baptist churches in Arkansas and Mississippi joined together to
construct a permanent place of worship for these two missions that have
developed out of this ministry.
Two New Missions Completed in Honduras. The ministry has continued to
grow and is now presenting Evangelism Workshops and conferences in
Honduras, Nicaragua, Peru and Ecuador. Go this link for the latest mission

Pray for the Lord's guidance as we seek to provide a
cost effective, high quality, professional education experience for rural
pastors, evangelists and church workers in these countries. These humble,
financially deprived, dedicated servants of the Lord have had little, if
any, formal training at a Bible college or seminary level.
Our goal is to provide
Bible institute level courses to train rural pastors, evangelists
and church leaders with a basic knowledge and skills necessary to
effectively carry out their biblical responsibilities. We do not want to duplicate
programs already offered in the large cities. Our target group are men
called of God who have never had an opportunity to study the Bible and
effective church leadership materials in a formal setting. Most rural pastors have
less than a high school education.
Ephesians 4:11-12 is the goal of this ministry
of Bible education by extension.
The student will receive free of charge high
quality well written textbooks in ten basic areas of church
planting. The material is presented from historical mainstream
conservative, evangelical, Bible-centered Christian theology.
The curriculum consists of the following
fifteen
courses:
Bible Study Methods/Interpretation
Old Testament Survey
New Testament Survey
Bible Doctrine Survey
Personal Spiritual Life
Church Ministry/Administration/Education
Teaching Principles/Methods
Church History
Missions/Evangelism/Discipleship
Preaching Bible Messages and Pastoral Ministry (for
church leaders Communication Biblical Messages)
Intensive courses on various Books of the Bible
At the end of these courses the student will
have received an ongoing "working resource/research library." This
material will provide the pastor with the necessary tools and
biblical materials from which to preach and teach effectively. The
Bible is the required curriculum content.
Rural pastors in the third world cannot take off three or four years to
obtain a Bible education and prepare for more effective ministries. It is
an impossible financial goal for families that live in poverty. Churches pay their pastors hardly
anything. Pastors serve out of love for the Lord Jesus Christ.
Therefore, we are seeking to deliver a
minimum of ten basic courses free of charge to these pastors. They will be
taught by pastors with excellent academic and pastoral experiences. Teachers
from the U. S. will be asked to trust the Lord to provide for their own way to go and teach one of our
courses for one week. The classes run from Monday through Friday and consist
of 40-50 hours of classroom participation. The student must also spend
another 30 hours in review, assignments and assimilation of the course
content and skills.
To reduce costs we will not build buildings in
these countries, but operate out of existing churches or church assembly grounds. We have pastors and laymen who are committed to theological education by extension
for rural pastors who will coordinate the work and provide logistics in Honduras.
Please remember Abide in Christ in your daily prayers.
