Christian Missionaries and Missionary Christians

"We never test the resources of God until we attempt the impossible" -- F. B. Meyer

"We must do something!

Expect great things from God! Attempt great things for God!" -- William Carey,
father of the modern missionary movement.

Short-term Volunteer Mission Projects designed with a clear focus on church planting in rural areas of the world.

“Unless the LORD builds the house,
They labor in vain who build it”
                         – Psalm 127:1.

It is an awesome thing to see the hand of God moving across a mountain town.

My job is much like that of the apostle Paul in Acts 16 - seeking God’s direction to where He is at work. It is amazing to see how God leads us to certain towns and villages where He is already at work. As He leads we make ourselves available to Him to use us as His instruments to preach the Gospel.

Here are before and after pictures of what God did at the church in Lepaterique, Honduras, in January 2002.

MEDICAL DENTAL MISSIONS OPENS DOORS FORTH GOSPEL

In early December I went with my staff to this mountain village and visited with the pastor, mayor and community leaders seeking their cooperation. The church is four years old and has 55 baptized members. Around 70 attend each Sunday. They had poured a foundation, but ran out of money to go further. We agreed to bring a medical-dental-evangelism team the last week of January.

CONSTRUCTION TEAMS

Butch Kelly brought an eight member construction team from Riverside Baptist Church, Money, Mississippi. To everyone’s surprise they finished their work earlier than expected on an orphanage here in Tegucigalpa. We took his team and 35 bags of cement to Lepaterique and finished pouring a floor for their education building.

“I was able to see God at work like I had never known.”

ANOTHER TEAM ARRIVES

Riverside Baptist’s team left money for us to purchase 45 additional bags of cement for the church to begin laying blocks for the walls of the sanctuary.

Much to our surprise when we arrived with the cement the following week, we found a large construction team from churches in Pennsylvania laying blocks!

“We fasted and prayed to God to send us help from the North, South, East or West. It really didn’t matter. We knew He was in control and wanted us to have a church. We knew somehow he would provide for His work. He provided by sending help from the North!”

MEDICAL DENTAL EVANGELISM TEAM ARRIVES

While the construction team was laying the blocks for walls and getting ready to pour concrete for the floors, God provided a team member who is now a pastor and has had 20 years of experience as a cement contractor in the U. S.  The medical-dental-evangelism team had three men who wanted to do construction work!

God’s timing is always perfect! His provision is never too soon, or too late.

While the construction team worked, the doctors, dentists, nurses, pastors, and other needed team members shared Christ as they ministered to patient’s needs.

I SAW GOD DO IT!

There were 310 professions of faith among the 1,811 medical patients. The team provided 8,989 medical prescriptions, and 428 dental prescriptions. They extracted 848 teeth among 438 dental patients, and 35 sutures. Also, they provided free of charge 351 eyeglasses, 700 Bibles and New Testaments, 4000 tracts, 2000 Gospels of John, and conducted 25 worship services.

As the medical-dental mission team and construction team left Lepaterique, they saw God provide a completed worship center and people ready for follow-up.

M

edicine – the magnet that draws people to Christ.

We must never make an apology for being in dead earnest about world missions . . . We must not retreat until Jesus Christ tells us he made a mistake in coming into the world to redeem men.

What can you do?

Partnership missions gives you an opportunity to become personally involved in what God is doing around the world.

Pray that our Honduran staff will be led by the Holy Spirit to the locations where God is at work, and that Team Captains will be alert to the leading of the Holy Spirit for their teams.

Support a mission team or missionary couple financially. This is a faith ministry and each missionary, volunteer and mission team depends upon the Lord to provide the financial needs for medicine, food, shipping, translators for doctors, nurses and preachers, etc.

Go on a medical-dental-evangelism team.

Our purpose is to carry the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ through Medical, Dental, and Veterinary services that minister to people in need.

Our goal is to evangelize the country of Honduras so that every person will be an authentic believer and witness for Jesus Christ.

We provide professional assistance for volunteer mission teams of doctors, nurses, pharmacists, veterinarians, construction, evangelists, etc. to poor villages and rural areas that do not have doctors, clinics and health services available.

“I have been praying for years that God would give us an opportunity to serve Him in world missions.”
