Getting ready for 2010 crusade

“How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in Him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent?” (Romans 10:14-15a ESV).

he goal of each Baptist church in northern Nicaragua is to start a new church this year. Abide in Christ is helping them accomplish this by training pastors and church leaders to use Evangelism in Depth materials.

Evangelism in Depth Workshops are helping pastors and church leaders in Nicaragua prepare for a great there is life in Jesus evangelistic crusade planned for February 20-27, 2010.

Over seventy-five pastors and church leaders in four locations came together in June 2009 to study and put into practice personal evangelism. These leaders are now teaching these materials in their churches and youth groups. Plans have been made to return to work with these churches in September 2009.

Pastors in rural areas of Nicaragua are hungry for help in personal evangelism.

Construction has begun for a new mission of First Baptist, Ocotal, Nicaragua. Pray for teams that will be working with Pastor Aristides and local church leaders.

Wil and Juan facilitated a special two hour Sunday School presentation for adults and teens. The interest in the materials was so intense you could hear a pin drop. Participation was enthusiastic at the special evangelistic services during the week. There were over one hundred recorded decisions through person witnessing during the workshops.

Partnership missions gives you an opportunity to become personally involved in what God is doing in world missions.

q Pray for three evangelism saturation teams to do door-to-door evangelism and rallies at night.

q We have prepared one-day Evangelism Workshops for churches in Latin America. These are patterned after the personal evangelism course we teach pastors and church leaders, but are shorter. This course has proven to be very practical and effective in personal evangelism. It was first used in Ecuador and Honduras. The vision for training rural pastors began with this course in mind while serving as a missionary in Honduras.

q Juan Alberto Herrera Ministry Alberto has faithfully served 18 years as a contract worker with mission teams. We agree with him that it is God’s will for him to serve as a full-time evangelist and pastor. Juan pastors a Honduran Baptist Convention church in Danli. He is our Director for Pastor and Church Leadership Training in Honduras.
