One of the pastors attending the evangelism workshop in Juigalpa was so determined to come that he spent three full days travelling. He walked one day, took a boat the next day, and a bus ont he third day. He had heard about our evangelism workshops from other pastors who had attended workshops in Miskito area of Nicaragua last year.

Carl Mason said, "The last day with the children in the park was the best day. In two and half hours we had 27 decisions for Christ. The Lord opened the door the previous day. On the second day in Concordia at every house we visited we had someone accept Christ."

Our goal for this team was to encourage Aristides Bustillo in the new "Abide in Christ Baptist Church" in Estelí, Nicaragua. Aristides sensed God leading him to leave a successful pastorate to start a new mission church. During the last six months he has started home Bible studies in Estelí and Concordia.

"We met three guys who had slingshots. I hit a tree with a rock, then I missed  another tree on purpose so I could illustrate sin as missing the mark, and share Christ as our only hope of salvation," said Don Dumas.

Bobby Franklin said, "My favorite experience was an elderly couple who was really listening and another person came in and both prayed to accept Christ."

Jerry visited a home in Concordia where an 83-year old man was sitting in a hammock recovering from a tree falling on him. His wife did not want to hear the Gospel. After presenting the plan of salvation Jerry asked if they would like to receive Christ as their savior. The woman said "no," but the man said, "I will receive Christ now." The woman repeated, "no." The old man was determined, "I will receive Christ now!"

Wil Pounds said, "My favorite visit on this evangelism trip to Nicaragua was to an internet café where Aristides Bustillo checks his emails. I asked the owner if she died today did she have the assurance she would go to heaven. She said 'yes,' so I asked her if God said to her, 'Why should I let you into My Heaven? What would you say? She was rather wishy washy so I went down the Roman Road. As I shared Romans 5:6, 8 she had a look on her face like a thousand watt light bulb lit up and a smile with tears streaming down her beautiful face. I asked her what was happening. She said, 'I just believed on Christ. I just realized what Christ did for me on the cross. I just gave my life to Christ.' When she read Romans 5:1-2 her response was, 'Peace, I have peace with God.'"
